Two people pulled from Kansas River in Lawrence

Two people were pulled from the Kansas River in Lawrence, Kansas, after a vehicle entered the water.
A news release from the Lawrence Police Department said at 1:15 p.m. Friday afternoon, a vehicle was reported to be in the Kansas River near 6th Street and Massachusetts. Emergency responders pulled two people from the water, and they were taken to area hospitals.
The release indicated there may have been other people in the vehicle, but after it was removed from the river, no one else was discovered inside.
A dive team will return to the area Saturday mornig to resume the search.
