UPDATE: Man identified after driving into floodwaters

SUNDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: The Reno County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the person killed after drowning in flood waters.

They say deputies were called to the 800 block of east 108th road around 4:30 Saturday afternoon after passerbys noticed an unoccupied ATV facing west in the middle of the washed out road and a person laying facedown in the water.

Authorities tried to revive the man, identified as Brian Sollers of rural Hutchinson, but were unsuccessful. The accident remains under investigation. 


ORIGINAL STORY: The Reno County Sheriff's Office says a person died after driving around a barricade and into high water Saturday afternoon.

The sheriff tells KNSS News that more details regarding the accident will be released today after family members are notified.

Authorities urge drivers to not ignore barricaded roadways.
