Victim identified in Friday car accident

An Arkansas City accident Friday morning killed a 72-year old man.

The accident involved two vehicles and happened on U.S. 77 between Kansas and Chestnut avenues. 

According to Kansas Highway Patrol, 72-year-old Maurice Howe was driving southbound in his minivan when he crossed the center line, striking another vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction.

Howe died from injuries sustained from the crash. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
