A hit-and-run accident took place in the east part of Wichita, severely injuring a 34-year-old male pedestrian. It happened before 8:00 p.m. Thursday, south of Kellogg & Hydraulic.

Investigators believe the suspect was driving a pickup truck north-bound on Hydraulic, making a left turn on to Indianapolis, when the pedestrian was struck in the intersection. The truck then drove away from the scene.

The truck has been described as a late 1990s or early 2000s regular-cab pickup.

The victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
