The Wichita City Council agreed on an expansion of the Union Station project in Old Town.

The old Ice House building near Union Station has 27,000 square foot of space, and will be expanded by 13,000 square feet.  It is estimated to cost $8.7 million and bring 40,000 total square feet of commercial space, and add a half-acre to the Union Station redevelopment district.

Mayor Jeff Longwell expressed his approval of this fourth phase of the Union Station project.  "It does bring a historic building back to life which is truly going to be a great project," the Mayor said.

It is set to be finished in April 2021.
