The Wichita City Council approved the Delano neighborhood master plan at their weekly meeting Tuesday.

The plan, which first came before the city council last year, will be a guide for improvements and development over the next 15 years.

Some of the items to tackle in the next 5 years include the ballpark village and a comprehensive parking strategy.

Hatman Jack’s founder Jeff Kellogg reminded the city council why it's important to solve the parking situation there.

"I just wanted to reiterate what it is that what we've been promised, so that you can be helpful to us in helping us to maintain what it is that we've built," Kellogg said.

Future plans include developing the streetscape on Douglas west of Seneca and a pedestrian bridge connecting the east and west banks of the Arkansas River.
