Wichita and Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in solving an attempted robbery.

On Friday, February 7 at around 10:15 a.m., a suspect rode a bicycle to Sayers Jewelry in the 4700 block of east Douglas, near Douglas and Oliver.

After parking the bike, the suspect entered the business carrying a duffel bag.

"He tried to go into the office, but an employee told him he was not allowed," said Police Officer Kevin Wheeler.  The suspect went back into the main floor area and made several demands for the employee to put merchandise into his duffel bag.  However, the employee did not comply.

The suspect quickly left the store.  "He then got back onto his bicycle and was last seen traveling north along Oliver," Wheeler added.

There was no loss or damage to the business, and there were no injuries.

It's believed the suspect may have been in the store days earlier to case the business.  He's described as a white man in his 30's.  He's 6',1'', 220 lbs., and was wearing a black hoodie, white pants, a black winter hat and black mask, dark glasses, white shoes, and black gloves.
