Wichita Crime Stoppers asks for help solving multiple car wash robberies

February 11, 2020 - 11:22 pm

Wichita and Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers are asking for the public’s help in solving multiple car wash robberies.

Four armed robberies took place at Two Zips Car Wash locations between late October and this past January.  Three of the robberies took place at the 700 N. Webb Road location and one at 37th and Rock Road.

Investigators believe that some, if not all of the robberies are connected.  "Two male suspects robbed the businesses, typically around closing time," said Police Officer Kevin Wheeler.  "The suspects appeared to be familiar with the location of equipment as well," he added.

In all of the cases, the suspects robbed, or attempted to rob the businesses of cash stored in the drive-through kiosks.

The suspects were described to be both black men in their early to mid-twenties.  In one of the cases the suspects arrived in a silver car, believed to be a Nissan Versa.
