Wichita Crime Stoppers offers reward to solve armed robbery

May 14, 2019 - 9:02 pm

Wichita area Crime Stoppers is asking for help to solve the robbery of a Family Dollar Store, where an employee was injured by a suspect with a knife.
On April 30, 2019, two suspected, both armed with knives, entered the Family Dollar Store at 13th and Oliver.  They demanded money from an employee who was behind a register.

"She was unable to do that," said Officer Kevin Wheeler.  "And in the process, she was actually cut by one of the suspects, and received a minor injury."

They discovered there was a second employee in the store as they attempted to break open a second register.  Once they were able to get the cash, they turned their attention back to the first register, which was opened by both of the employees.

The suspects took the cash from that register and fled the store on foot.

The first suspect was described as an hispanic man in his 20's, 5' 6", 135 lbs., wearing blue jeans, a black hooded sweat shirt,  grey shoes, blue gloves, and a grey mask.

The second suspect was wearing grey sweat pants, a black jacket with maroon hood, black shoes, a black glove on the left hand, and a black mask.
