WICHITA, Kan. — The new year, means a new home for The Wichita Eagle.  Plans are underway to move operations to the Old Town area of downtown Wichita.

President and publisher Roy Heatherly announced Tuesday that the Eagle has signed an agreement to move its business and about 100 employees to Old Town. The Eagle reports the building is expected to be ready by April.

Officials are still looking for a building to serve as a distribution center for the paper.  Printing operations were moved to Kansas City last year.

The paper's former location is being converted to house the operations for Cargill.
