A Wichita man has been arrested after a woman was stabbed to death early Saturday morning.

Wichita Police officers were dispatched around 4:10 a.m., to a home in the 2400 block of south Washington, near Pawnee and Washington.

When they arrived, they could hear a woman screaming.  They forced entry into the home and found a 28-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times.  She was transported to a local hospital where she died from her injuries.

The Wichita Eagle reports 44 year-old Jason Leigh McCaleb was arrested on suspicion of intentional and premeditated first-degree murder and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

He has not yet been officially charged in Sedgwick County District Court.

Law enforcement has not identified the victim but KWCH-TV reports she is 28-year-old Devin Cook.
