Wichita man arrested on attempted kidnapping charges

Wichita Police arrested a 28-year-old Wichita man on charges of attempted kidnapping and possession of methamphetamine.

It happened around 3:50 p.m. Saturday. Officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of South Roosevelt.  

A 28-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter told police the girl was walking alone in the area of 31st and Clifton when the suspect, Victor Lara-Aguilera, approached her on foot and said she was coming with him. When the man grabbed her arm and started to pull her with him, the girl screamed loudly, pulled away and ran to her grandmother's house. The girl told her mother what happened, and police were called.
Police obtained a description of the suspect from the girl. He was located in the 2900 block of South Hillside and arrested without further incident.
