Wichita Police to conduct sobriety checkpoint

Wichita police, in conjunction with Sedgwick County sheriff and Kansas Highway patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint lane this weekend.

Officer Kevin Wheeler says the lane will be from 10 PM Saturday nite to 2AM Sunday morning.

In addition to impaired drivers, they will also be checking drivers licenses, vehicle registrations, proof of insurance, and seatbelt compliance.

Wheeler says most drivers will only have a short stop time.

As per normal procedures, the location will not be released.
