Wichita Police report the city's 29th homicide

Woman was killed last weekend

At about 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 30th, police were called to an apartment at 1212 South Longfellow to check the welfare of a female resident. 

Police and firefighters had to force entry and once in the apartment, they discovered a the body of 55 year-old woman. She was identified as Eula Duncan. 

Residents of the complex told detectives it was known that the woman had been injured and that is what prompted the 9-1-1 call. 

Police Lt. Todd Ojile said they have someone in mind as a possible subject, but have been unable to locate the man. He says the man may have fled the city.

Police are asking anyone with information in this case to call the police homicide section at 268-4182, or crimestoppers at 267-2111.

This is the city's 29th homicide of the year.
