WICHITA, Kan. - Here in the month of November, deer become more and more active. Wichita Police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow had a reminder from the Wichita Police Department.

"We encourage everyone to be defensive drivers when driving on city streets and highways," said Sgt. Woodrow.  "Be diligent when driving and look for deer crossing the road or standing beside the road. Remember the majority of time there is one deer there are also several with them."

Sgt. Woodrow says deer activity peaks around dawn and dusk. Police have had reports of deer sightings in Wichita neighborhoods already this fall.
