Wichita: search for aggravated assault/gun suspect

Police are asking for the public's help, trying to locate a suspect involving a gun and an aggravated assault case from three weeks ago in N. Wichita near Hillside & Murdock. It happened on the afternoon of St. Valentine's Day in the 800 block of N. Chautauqua.

A 31-year-old man was in his driveway, working on a vehicle, when the suspect approached from behind, taking the man's 9mm handgun out of the holster on his waist. The suspect pointed the gun at the victim, then ran through an alley. The man chased the suspect, then says the suspect fired one shot at him.

Police describe the suspect as a 17-year-old black male with an afro hair style, wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, and a black backpack.
