Wichita teachers vote to accept contract offer

WICHITA, Kan. (KNSS) – Members of the United Teachers of Wichita union have agreed to a tentative agreement from the Wichita Board of Education. 

The union posted a statement on their Facebook page, indicating that over 77% of the voting members approved the offer.

KSN News reports that 2,227 members approved the school board’s contract offer. A total of 648 members voted against it.

The UTW post says the next step in the process is for the Wichita school board to vote on the contract.
