Wichita violent crime rising

Violent crimes in Kansas were the highest in 2017 than in the last ten years, according to the KBI's crime index, and people are starting to notice.

According to the report, violent crimes have soared by 23 percent in the last three years. In 2017 there were 176 murders in Kansas, and that is 41% higher than the average for the past ten years!

Of those murders, 35 were in Wichita alone.

Chief Gordon Ramsay fears that number is going to be higher this year. He says that the crimes are being driven by the same people with stolen guns--people that the officers know by name and birthdate by heart!

Crime is so bad in Wichita, federal prosecutors teamed up with local and state law enforcement to target violent crime in Wichita and Garden City.
