The Wichita Wingnuts baseball team defeated the visiting Gary SouthShore Railcats 10-4 on Thursday night at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium, snapping a three-game losing streak.

The first-place Wingnuts avoided the sweep, breaking the game open with seven runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Wichita has the top record in the league, and an 11.5-game lead atop the South Division.

Wichita is home this weekend for a three-game series, as the Sioux Falls Canaries make their only visit this season to Wichita. These are the last three home games for the Wingnuts before they embark on a three-week long road trip during the National Baseball Congress World Series.
