A Wichita woman has been arrested after claiming her daughter's father was likely to hurt her.

The Father's Day incident happened when the mother reported the incident to police.

Wichita police Capt. Brent Allred said in a news briefing on Tuesday that Ronetta Clement, 34, reported that the father of her daughter, 2, was refusing to return the girl and had been making homicidal and suicidal statements.

Police asked for help locating the pair, noting that the case didn't rise to the level of an Amber Alert.

Allred said the child was located late Monday with her grandmother and appeared to be fine.  It was determined that the girl's father didn't make the reported statements.

Clement was arrested on suspicion of interference with law enforcement, and providing false information.

The Wichita Eagle reports that officers spent 117 hours on the investigation.
