On Saturday morning, several Wichitans started the morning off right in a healthy and helpful way, by taking part in an exercise to help children with disabilities reach their full potential.

It was part of Pedalfest, a one day bike ride through the countryside around the city. The event is put on every year by Heartspring.

The money raised through Pedalfest provides physical therapy, speech therapy, and other services for children in the community.

David Allen, one of the participants, says the challenging ride was worth it.

Heartspring serves about a thousand kids locally every year.
