After nearly three weeks on the road, the first-place Wichita Wingnuts finally played a home baseball game on Monday night downtown at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

In a matchup between the top two teams in the American Association, the Wingnuts knocked off the Lincoln Saltdogs 3-2; Lincoln owns the top record in the AA.

The Wingnuts leave town for an extended period of time every summer during the National Baseball Congress World Series.

Wichita has a massive 14-game lead atop the South Division.

Wichita hosts Lincoln on Tuesday evening; it's the second game of a brief three-game homestand.
