WPD issues warning about thefts from cars

In a post to Twitter the Wichita Police Department says, among other items, 10 guns and 28 purses or wallets were stolen from motor vehicles in the past 11 days. Lieutenant Scott Brunow posted Monday afternoon that 166 vehicle larcenies occurred from May 31st to June 10th. The list of stolen items included purses and wallets, guns, tools, tablets or laptops, sunglasses, and a dog.   

According to Wichita police there were 23 guns stolen from cars in May, and 93 guns stolen from cars since the beginning of the year. The burglaries from motor vehicles are widespread but have hot spots Old Town and around Pawnee and Broadway.
